How to Play

The game is very easy to learn, but when you think you’ve mastered it, you’ll go from glory, to defeat, to glory. It’s about strategy and it’s about luck. Laugh, cry, whine, have fun and keep an eye on the competition. Because some Guys are good, some Guys are bad, and…well... some Guys are just not-so-smart... but never, ever forget about the jerk!

Rules

  • The first player to get 5 consecutive cards on their table deck wins the game!
  • Start the game by shuffling the cards and dealing 5 to each player — this is your hand. The remaining cards become the draw pile on the table.
  • At any given time, each player can hold a maximum of 5 cards in their hand, and 5 cards on their table deck.
  • Play starts with any player and then moves clockwise.

The cards consist of:

  1. Bot

Number cards (1-10): These are used for regular play, in order to create a table deck of 5 consecutive cards. We call them Bots.

  2. Bot

GOOD GUY (GG) cards: these Guys are wild cards and can be used as any number on your table deck. When played, you must declare the number it will be and you cannot change it. If a GG is stolen then its value can be reassigned. The winning sequence can include any number of GG cards.

  3. Bot

BAD GUY (BG) cards: these Guys allow you to snag one card from one opponent’s table deck and bring it to your own hand or table deck.

  4. Bot

NOT SO SMART GUY (NSSG) cards: these Guys allow you to take any card from one opponent’s hand and bring it to your hand. You cannot look at your opponent’s hand — you just choose one, and trust your instincts!

  5. Bot

JERK (J) cards: these Guys allow you to choose one opponent and wipe out their entire table deck. All their table deck cards go into the discard pile, under the J card.

On a turn, pick ONE of these actions:

  • Place a number or GG card on your table deck to build your 5 consecutive number sequence. Once you have committed to a sequence, it cannot be changed unless you’re wiped out by a J card.
  • Play a BG, NSSG or J card by dropping it on the discard pile and telling one opponent the card is for them.
  • Discard a number card from your hand to the discard pile. You may not discard a GG card. You cannot discard from your table deck.
  • Pick a card from the draw pile and add it to your hand (but only if you have less than 5 cards in your hand).
  • You may pick up the top card from the discard pile, so long as it is a number card. You cannot pick up a BG, NSSG or J card from the discard pile.

If the draw pile finishes, take all the cards on the discard pile, shuffle them, and use them as the new draw pile.
